ABSTRACT

Suicidal death cases due to electrocution with extremely spe-cial mechanisms are frequently presented as well as new find-ings about electrocution deaths, have been emphasized recent-ly. Our case committed suicide by electrocution using special equipment in his house. He was a 58 years old man and a had history of psychiatric disease and an unsuccesful suicidal attempt were expressed. Stripped copper electric cable encir-cling his ankles and left wrist with suicide letters were found at the scene external examination revealed skin lesions by elec-trocution, and internal examination put out nonspecific changes, while microscopic examination displayed disassocia-tion of skin layers, nuclear polarisation, dermal necrose and hyperemia due to elecrocution were observed. No toxic sub-stance was found. It was reported that his death was due to elecrocution. Our case was discussed on the aspect of the evalua-tion of the medicolegal features of the electrocution induced suicidal deaths.
