Eskişehirde Evsiz Ölümleri 10 Yıllık Deneyim

Amaç: Evsizlik tüm toplumlarda görülebilen önemli bir toplumsal sorundur. Evsizliğin nedenleri toplumlara göre değişiklikler göstermektedir. Bu çalışmada ülkemizin sosyoekonomik seviyesi yüksek ve bir öğrenci şehri olarak bilinen, Batı Anadolu’da bulunan Eskişehir’de evsiz ölümlerinin analizinin yapılması, verilerin sunulması ve literatürle karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: 2004-2013 yılları arasındaki 10 yıllık dönemde, Eskişehir’de otopsisi yapılan 3108 olgu retrospektif olarak tarandı. Otopsi tutanakları ve adli soruşturma değerlendirilerek evsiz ölümü olduğu belirlenen 34 olgu çalışma kapsamına alındı.
Bulgular: Çalışma kapsamındaki 10 yıllık dönemde, adli nitelikli ölümlerin % 1,1’ini evsiz ölümlerinin oluşturduğu saptandı. Olguların en sık 40-50 yaş (% 38,2) grubunda olduğu ve % 91,2’sinin erkek olduğu belirlendi. % 61,8’inin doğal nedenlerden öldüğü belirlendi.
Sonuç: Sonuç olarak, çalışmada elde edilen veriler, şehrimizde evsizliğin bir sorun olduğunu göstermektedir. Evsizlerin önemli bir kısmının önlenebilir veya tedavi edilebilir sebeplerden dolayı öldüğü saptanmıştır. Evsiz ölümlerin önlenebilmesi için evsizler kayıt altına alınmalı ve sağlık ve sosyal yaşamları desteklenmelidir. Evsiz ölümlerinde mutlaka soruşturma dosyası dikkatle incelenmeli, otopsi ve gerekli tetkikler yapılmalıdır.
