We are here with the first issue of the Bulletin of Forensic Medicine in 2019. May the 100th anniversary of the 14th March since 1919, brings health, happiness and success to all health professionals and all those working in the field of forensic sciences.
We are happy and proud with the fact that, apart from being scanned by international indexes such as DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals); the Bulletin of Legal Medicine is currently the only forensic science journal among other fields in the country indexed within the scope of Tübitak Ulakbim TR Index once after the Council of Universities issued a condition according to the Application Requirements for Associate Professors of having an article published in a nationally reviewed journal indexed by ULAKBIM.
We are happy to share with you the studies from different disciplines within the scope of the forensic science in this new issue of our journal.
We would like to ask you to check carefully the journal writing rules while sending your articles to our journal.
Life continues to show us the importance of merit in the field of forensic sciences and how science is open to new horizons in the fields of literature and art.

Dear Forensic Scientists,
As we promised you during the 15 th Forensic Sciences Congress which is a scientific meeting platform of the scientists working in the field of forensic sciences, we are grateful to present you the first volume of the Bulletin of Legal Medicine for 2018. We are presenting you a volume that should be archived including different fields of forensic sciences once again.
Sexual violence of children and women is one of the primary subjects of our country nowadays and it is sustaining to be aware of the fact that this issue was scientifically scrutinized in our journal for years and it was referenced for numerous studies and for the press as well, proving that we were on the correct path for all these years. Unfortunately, there is no sufficient scientific data showing the actual extent of the harassment of children and women in our country, which in return creates a problem to reveal this issue subjectively. As being one of the first countries signing the Convention on the Right of the Children, we should highlight the fact that, any individual who is under 18 years old is both medically and legally a child. Besides this, we should also raise our voices in a scientific way for all these children for any medical, legal and social sanction and implementation. The way of it is to share our knowledge and studies in this field in the Bulletin of Legal Medicine which is an internationally known journal that is scanned by Tubitak Ulakbim TR Index and international DOAJ databases (Directory of Open Access Journals). We would like to invite all scientists to direct their studies in these relevant fields to our journal.

With this number, you hold in your hands now, we have published the final issue of the Bulletin of Legal Medicine for 2017. We are happy to keep our promise about our punctuality and also our promise on publishing minimum twelve articles with this issue as well. We would like to express our gratitude to all scientists working in the field of forensic sciences who contributed our journal to become a focal point where our journal is scanned by Tübitak Ulakbim TR Index and international DOAJ databases (Directory of Open Access Journals).

We are happy to announce that our application to DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) has been accepted and from now on, the Bulletin of Legal Medicine is indexed by DOAJ. Dear Forensic Scientists,
We are here with the first issue of The Bulletin of Legal Medicine in 2017. We thank you very much for your intense interest in our journal. As a result of 22 years of experience and process, we are continuing to pursue research, case presentation and compilation as well as proceeding with certain steps towards becoming a scientific platform for the forensic science field.
In the new issue of our journal, we believe you will read the clinical forensic applications, judicial document reviews and Dr. Fahri Ecevit’s biography in terms of history of forensic medicine with interest. We believe that the article which brings the universal trauma scoring system to the agenda and assessment of injuries in forensic medicine applications debate on the guide currently used is a horizon. It is a well-known fact that the case presentations are educational and published in our journal are also interesting. In the “disability” reporting system, the scoring system has become a necessity for establishing a scientific standard, revealing the trauma of individuals and ensuring justice.
The Bulletin of Legal Medicine has acquired the identity of an international journal published on time and scanned by Tübitak Ulakbim TR Index and many other international databases. In the meantime, we want to emphasize that we are applying to be indexed by DOAJ and SCI-Expanded and that the process is still ongoing. When you send your study to our journal, we ask you to upload your articles to the system in accordance with the journal writing rules.

Dear Forensic Scientists,
Firstly, I would like to state that we decry recently increasing incidents of terrorism. We have to act with an approach that includes our relations with nature by both objective and subjective sensitivity of a scientist as working in the stressful branches of forensic science especially trauma and death. The Bulletin of Legal Medicine develops rapidly on the way of becoming not only national, but also an international scientific platform, in which your contributions are extremely valuable.
When we examine the website of our journal via visitors statistics, we are pleased to determine that our visitors from almost every country in the world access to articles as “PDF” format which we share free in thought of independent science. We would like to ask you to add the numbers of “DOI” in order to increase impact factor of our bulletin when representing articles in our bulletin as reference.
We become happy about increasing in the quality and quantity of articles arriving to us and learn that our bulletin is indexed in many national and international databases. As a scientific journal published on time, we need more supports, participations and contributions especially with research articles.

Dear Forensic Scientists,
We are very pleased to present 3rd issue of 2015 of The Bulletin of Legal Medicine. As year of 2015, we have published last issue of our bulletin on time.
I want to share our happiness with you about admission of articles for evaluation from not only our country, but also abroad to our journal. Our other pride is determination of English articles, admitted to our journal, by our international advisory board. The Bulletin of Legal Medicine, being monitored by international scientific indexes, has gained an international journal quality, within a short time. The journal also perfected its online accession system by providing DOI (Digital Object Identifier) number, a character string that uniquely identifies a digital object, for each paper. Also, one of the most important problems scientific researches is "plagiarism", as related no longer articles are passed through the CrossCheck plagiarism scanning system before sending to the referees.
The PDF files of all issues of the Bulletin of Legal Medicine since 1996 as beginning of publication are open for free access to our website. We have changed design of cover and pages of our journal since 2015. Clearly, we were worried about this change as a traditional structure. However, positive feedbacks of criticism have further increased work determination.
Dear Forensic Scientists, We wish you to continue contributions to our journal. Not only publication of articles in our journal, but also we would like to remind you that you make contribution to a scientific platform by sharing your comments and submitting as letter to the editor.

We are very pleased to present 2nd issue of 2015 of The Bulletin of Legal Medicine. It is a great honor to achieve timely delivering 2nd issue of The Bulletin of Legal Medicine during XII. Congress of Forensic Sciences organized by The Society of Forensic Medicine Specialists.
As a natural consequence of increasing number of scientific activities and studies in the field of forensic sciences, there is an increase in the number and the quality of papers submitted to our journal. Increasing submissions from abroad besides our country certainly put forward the universal manner or our work. In this issue, we are pleased to share scientific studies from four different countries.
The Bulletin of Legal Medicine, being monitored by international scientific indexes, has gained an international journal quality, within a short time. The Bulletin of Legal Medicine has been continuously published with the double-blind referee system since 1996. We are celebrating our 20th year anniversary together with the issue you are holding.
The Bulletin of Legal Medicine, being monitored by international scientific indexes, has gained an international journal quality, within a short time. We hope to give the good news of the new scientific indexes in near future. From the very next issue every paper will have DOI (Digital Object Identifier) number. DOI is a character string that uniquely identify a digital object that facilitate accession to it, and accepted papers that given DOI number will accessed as article in press.
We would like to underline that from the very first issue of 2015 the journal will be published with more original, case reports, and review papers. The journal’s editorial board, national and international advisory board have been updated and activated in a short period. The Bulletin of Legal Medicine experience innovation, starting from 2015 issues, without compromising its scientific way, and without departing from tradition. We are going to change the journal’s cover and page design in the new issue. We present the journal with both its scientific content and design.

Dear Forensic Scientists,
Last year, 2014, was quite challenging and highly fruitful for The Bulletin of Legal Medicine. With this issue, we have completed our regularly published since 1996 journal's volumes of 2012 and 2013, and 2014 issues even with increasing numbers of papers.
For The Bulletin of Legal Medicine 2014 was a year of restructuring. Firstly, we have started our “Open Journal System” by establishing journal's website. Based on the philosophy of free science we make PDF version of all articles published since 1996 freely available in through our system. We updated and reactivated journal's national and international advisory board. We successively achieved to initiate a more efficient manuscript evaluation system by double blinded review on "Open Journal System". With these improvements our journal is currently being indexed by many national and international databases.
We will continue to publish actual invited literature reviews by highly qualified invited professionals in the field. Dr.C.A.Bemard, who brought countless innovations to Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Adliye-i Şahane, is a highly valuable scholar with his dissection and autopsy studies. We are sure that you will benefit from the paper entitled “An Assessment on the Works of Charles Ambroisse Bernard, the founder of Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Adliye-i Şahane (Imperial School of Medicine), and his effects on Ottoman” by Hülya Öztürk and Cezmi Karasu. We thank the authors who willingly share this archival work with our readers. In this issue, we are glad to share an invited article entitled “The Role of Psychology in Investigations” by our colleague Donna Youngs and Emek Yüce Zeyrek-Rios from Huddersfield University International Research Centre for Investigative Psychology (IRCIP).
Valuable forensic scientists. The Bulletin of Legal Medicine will be with you with innovation and surprises in 2015. The phenomenon of tutorials, developer, and exchanger characteristic of case as stated by famous Italian thinker Gramsci, is evident in manuscripts submitted to our journal. We will share more case works in our further issues. The Bulletin of Legal Medicine successively achieved to initiate and accelerate the processes of submission, review and publication with "Open Journal System" on its website. We would like to thank “Türkiye Klinikleri/Turkish Clinics” for providing online submission system to our journal, previously.
PDF version of all articles published in The Bulletin of Legal Medicine since 1996 are now available in "Archive" section on journals website. Researchers are able to download any published article by searching on the website for free. In addition, PDF version of books of Medical Law Meetings organized by The Society of Forensic Medicine Specialists, are also available in “Announcements” section of the website.
We would like to thank to forensic science professionals for their precious support regarding improvement of the journal. In a short while, we gladly faced with the intense interest of both distinguished authors and reviewers. We have recent good news to share with you. The Bulletin of Legal Medicine has restarted to be monitored by Turkey Citation Index (Türkiye Atıf Dizini) database. The journal has also started to be indexed by “Google Scholar”, in international area. In this regard, you will be able to access the PDF versions of your articles, citation results of your articles and your citations through “Google Scholar”.
