Abstract

Suicidal death cases due to electrocution with extremely special mechanisms are frequently presented as well as new findings about electrocution deaths, have been emphasized recently. Our case committed suicide by electrocution using special equipment in his house. He was a 58 years old man and a had history of psychiatric disease and an unsuccesful suicidal attempt were expressed. Stripped copper electric cable encircling his ankles and left wrist with suicide letters were found at the scene external examination revealed skin lesions by electrocution, and internal examination put out nonspecific changes, while microscopic examination displayed disassociation of skin layers, nuclear polarisation, dermal necrose and hyperemia due to elecrocution were observed. No toxic substance was found. It was reported that his death was due to elecrocution. Our case was discussed on the aspect of the evaluation of the medicolegal features of the electrocution induced suicidal deaths.
