ABSTRACT

A m ed icolegal investigation consists o f adequate information about the past, crim e scene investigation and performing an autopsy with laboratory analysis. The cause of death is based on a careful review of all the available information. W hen subsequent information leads to an alteration of an opinion without perform ing an autopsy, the cause o f death and the death certificate may need to be revised.

In this paper, the crim e scene investigation o f a body w ho was found near by a building construction was revieweci. Traum atic head injury w as found and an accidental death had b een described by the eyewitnesses. The autopsy revealed shotgun injuries and the case was discussed by the m eans o f m edicolegal importance.
